Bomb Defuse is not Team Deathmatch with an extra marker. Attackers must create enough control to plant at A or B; defenders must delay, deny the plant or retake before the device completes its countdown. Credits carry decisions between rounds, so one expensive loss can affect the weapons and utility available in the next fight.

Give every buy a purpose

A useful buy balances three needs: a weapon that fits the planned distance, enough protection to survive the first exchange and utility that helps the team cross a dangerous angle. Buying the most expensive rifle while leaving the rest of the squad on weak equipment creates one strong player and several easy trades.

Think in team rounds, not personal purchases. If the planned route crosses a long sightline, at least one smoke may be worth more than a small weapon upgrade. If the route is a tight interior, a flash timed before the entry can produce the clean first duel the team needs.

Attack in layers

An effective site entry has at least two layers. The first operator clears the immediate threat; the second is close enough to trade if the first is eliminated. A third watches the rotation or protects the device carrier. When all attackers push through the same doorway at the same distance, one defender can damage several players and escape before a trade arrives.

  1. Gather a clue. A footstep, door, shot or thrown grenade can reveal where defenders are committed.
  2. Remove one sightline. Use smoke, cover or route choice so the entry fights fewer angles at once.
  3. Enter together. Keep enough spacing to avoid shared damage, but stay close enough for a fast trade.
  4. Clear before planting. A rushed plant beside an unchecked corner gives the defender both the elimination and the objective.
Entry spacingIf the second player cannot see the first player's opponent within a moment, the gap is too large. If both players are blocked by the same doorway at the same time, the gap is too small.

Plant for the position you can hold

Hold E inside the marked site to plant. The safest plant is not automatically the best plant. The device should be visible or reachable from the positions the surviving attackers can realistically occupy. A plant hidden from every long angle may force the team into close-range checks against a defender who controls the approach.

After the plant, do not all stare at the device from one side. Use different pieces of hard cover, keep one operator capable of hearing the defuse and avoid taking unnecessary solo fights far from the objective. The countdown is now working for the attackers; defenders should be forced to spend time clearing each angle.

Defend with information and time

A defender does not need to eliminate the entire attacking team at the first contact. One early elimination, a closed door, a delayed push or confirmed sound can buy time for a rotation. If the site cannot be held, leave through a route the attackers do not already control and preserve enough health to retake with teammates.

Call what happened, not what you assume. “Two entered B, device not seen” is more useful than “everyone B.” Reliable information keeps the other site from rotating too early and exposing the entire map.

Retake as one event

Once the device is planted, wait briefly for nearby teammates when the countdown allows it. A sequence of solo entries gives the attackers isolated duels. A coordinated retake combines utility, simultaneous pressure and a clear defuse role.

  • Confirm the likely plant position and remaining attackers before committing.
  • Clear the nearest dangerous angle first; do not run directly to the device with an opponent still visible.
  • Use a flash or smoke to divide the site, then enter from more than one route.
  • Assign the defuse to the operator closest to the device while the others protect it.
  • If there is not enough time, save a valuable weapon instead of giving the attackers a free final elimination.

Review decisions, not only aim

When a round ends, ask a small set of questions: Was the team buy coordinated? Did the first player have a trade? Was the plant visible from the post-plant positions? Did defenders rotate on confirmed information? Did the retake begin together? These answers improve the next round even when the mechanical duel was lost.

Bomb Defuse rewards patience that still has a purpose. Waiting behind cover with no information is passive; holding an angle while a teammate moves into position is coordination.
